Marriage Initiatives

Marriage Initiatives
DC – Yesterday, Bishop Harry Jackson and representatives of a coalition of pro-marriage groups, including the FRC, filed for recognition of an initiative to give D.C. voters an opportunity to define marriage as between a man and a woman. The Coalition hopes to counteract passage of a full-fledged same-sex marriage bill by the D.C. Council, promised this fall.

Maine – Mainers will gather for a Stand for Marriage Rally in the Augusta Civic Center, Sunday evening, September 13. On Monday, the 14th, FRC will sponsor a pastors briefing (see Rally, Pastors’ Briefing). Homosexual activists, having abandoned any 2010 challenge to California Proposition 8, are encouraging followers to lend their presence and finances to defeat traditional marriage in Maine.

Pray for Bishop Harry Jackson and Stand4MarriageDC. May God pour out His Spirit upon the Maine Marriage Rally and the Pastors Briefing. May He stir donors, prayer warriors and activists sufficient to obtain great victories in both Maine and D.C. (Ex 33:3-6; Ps 119:126; Lk 22:46; 1Th 5:17; Heb 13:7, 17).
